Los Angeles-based artist Cali Thornhill Dewitt‘s third solo exhibition at Copenhagen’s V1 Gallery & Eighteen opened this past Saturday. Known for exploring the state of American culture, the multidisciplinary artist is often is compared to the prolific Mike Kelly and Barbara Kruger, while his practice has led to numerous collaborations from The Life of Pablo merch to a commemorative capsule for the late Anna Nicole Smith.

For his newest show, entitled “WAR SONG,” Dewitt speaks directly to the oncoming destruction of climate change, with bold, propaganda-like signage designed to warn extraterrestrial visitors of Earth’s imminent doom. Although this topic has been countlessly explored by artists, it’s clear message of fear and destruction leaves a lasting effect on the viewer.
