Chinatown Market Drives Across the Country for Their NBA All-Star Capsule with PUMA
In collaboration with PUMA, Los Angeles favorite Chinatown Market customized a Mad Max-themed van and drove it across the country last weekend to this year’s NBA All-Star game in Charlotte. Complete with a hot shot game that pops out of the trunk, the van doubles as a pop-up, bringing a limited release of hoodies, tees, hats and accessories decked in Chinatown’s reinterpretation of PUMA’s signature graphics.
For the second time collaborating, the Chinatown Market and PUMA range focused on hand drawn graphics, while performing individual customization on-site. While the collection does not deliver a typical sportswear aesthetic, the line definitely plays homage to basketball with nostalgic references and silhouettes. Along with Chinatown’s now-infamous Smiley basketball, the lookbook also features PUMA’s newest iteration of the Uproar shoe in the “Charlotte” colorway.
