ASICS Re-invents the Past for the Breakout Styles of the Season

In the whirlwind of music, art, and fashion at ASICS’ Paris Fashion Week event next week, the brand’s most coveted new styles of the season will be at the center of it all. Taking tried and true classics from it’s archives, ASICS re-constructs two cult classics through cutting-edge designs and technology.

Fusing the upper of the classic trail runner GEL-NANDI with the full length GEL tooling found on the GEL-QUANTUM™ 360 5 TRAIL, ASICS’ newest model, the GEL-NANDI™ 360 is the best of both worlds. Updated with premium suede construction, this hybrid model is fit for the off road trail athlete and fashion-forward street kid.

Drawing on decades of Japanese expertise and innovation, the GEL-1090™ was first released in 2004, premiering on two Olympic gold medal runner’s feet. Re-introduced more than ten years later, the silhouette keeps it 00’s aesthetics but features serious upgrades with the latest groundbreaking GEL technology below the heel and forefoot. Leather overlays keep the sneaker fresh and durable, while a lightweight mesh base balances the overall weight of the shoe.

Celebrating years of innovation and design, ASICS latest offerings are a true testament to their mission of always putting substance over hype. While both silhouettes are a nod to the nostalgic, early-millennium trend popping up within the fashion world, at the end of the day they are an authentic staple favorited among expert runners.
