Nike’s New Spin on the Air Monarch Will Soon Come in "Pink Foam"

Nike originally unveiled the dad-like Air Monarch back in 2002; adding a suitably bold and chunky sneaker model to the 2000’s streetwear scene. Now 16 years old and reimagined in four unique styles, the formerly loved Monarch silhouette has been given a contemporary upgrade with an old-school feel, better known as the M2K Tekno. For those of you new to discovering the thick-bottomed pair of kicks, think of these new additions as the perfect mix of normcore, retro and futuristic. This time though, Nike caters to the ladies with women’s sized iterations in three distinct colorways.

Previously teased in black and white, a new pink iteration has surfaced; bringing a candy-sweet flare to the brand’s latest footwear offering. Nike’s forthcoming Women’s M2K Tekno will soon come in the cotton candy hue, “Pink Foam.” Sounds a bit fluffy for such a chunky shoe, am I right? Well despite its bulky aesthetic, these sweet sneaks are totally cloud-like and lightweight thanks to their comfy foam midsole and soft cushioning. Add these or one of the other color options to your collection by visiting select Nike retailers or the SNKRS app this Saturday, May 5.
