Jordan Brand Enlists Paris Saint-Germain for it's First-Ever Soccer Partnership
After a long partnership history between Nike and Paris Saint-Germain, dating all the way back to 1989, it is only natural that the Parisian club has scored Jordan Brand’s first ever soccer sponsorship. The Nike-produced shoe and athletic clothing company felt the sponsorship with the Parisian team an organic step after opening a Jordan Bastille store in the French capital in 2016 and after it’s union with the French Basketball Federation. In a press release, owner and founder Michael Jordan explained, "Jordan Brand and Paris Saint-Germain share a distinct position in sport and style, so to partner with the club is a natural fit.” The three-year contract launches with the release of the inaugural collection this Friday, September 14th.
The capsule is compromised of both performance and lifestyle offerings, including a variety of matching kits, footwear and clothing. PSG iterations of the retro Air Jordan 5 and Air Jordan 1 sneakers are served up alongside a red and black Nike Phantom Vision Elite soccer boot. The collection is born out of the pairing Jordan Brand’s heritage color’s with the strategic use of PSG’s prominent color, red. You can catch Neymar, Mbappé, and the rest of the gang in their brand new matching kits when they debut their updated look on September 18th’s pitch.
