Foundation Louis Vuitton has opened an expansive retrospective on prolific American artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. One-hundred and twenty works will be showcased within the four floors of Frank Gehry Building in Paris. The New York City artist’s career will be on display for the exhibitors with pieces spanning from 1980-1988. Basquiat, whose signature style was derived from his early years as a graffiti artist, is more relevant today than ever before.

By visually exploring music, culture, race relations and policy brutality, the iconic artist’s recycling and repeated paintings resemble our current political climate and copy and paste internet aesthetic. Open until January, the exhibition will highlight Basquiat’s lasting influence on the art world.
