Whether it's the bedazzled brilliance of his reimagined sculpture of Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius or his seemingly mobile architectural works frozen in time for his "Moving Architecture" show, Daniel Arsham has created the ultimate formula for intersecting contemporary art with archaic elements. His ongoing Future Relic series is perhaps the best example of this marriage; reimagining objects of today found in the future. For his ninth addition to the project ("Future Relic 09"), Arsham sculpts a cast plastered and glass iteration of a Casio Casiotone MT-500 keyboard from the '80s.

And like all good things, the multidisciplinary artist's Future Relic series is coming to an end. The artist will be launching a batch of 500 of these fictional archeological instruments in addition to a limited quantity of full sets (consisting of Relics 01-09) this Friday, January 26th at 12 p.m. EST on his official website. To top it all off, the New York-based sculpting pro recently created a trailer for an imaginary Future Relic film planned to release in Summer 2089.
