French Producer Brodinski Just Unveiled a New Track with a Captivating Accompanying Visual
French DJ and producer is back with the first offering from his forthcoming EP, ‘Split.’ This heavy-hitting track features hip hop artist Peewee Longway and an engagingly cinematic visual formed by a collaboration of i-D Magazine's best five video director, Pavel Brenner, and newly-awarded eclectic production company, Couscous Saumon. The video’s concept was born out of a blend of Brodinski’s interest in the ‘Pimp my Ride’ obsession and Pavel’s childhood memories, when kids would install blaring sound systems in their cars. The song’s resounding baseline drives the themes of revenge and violence within the narrative, keeping the audience fixated until the startling end.
Although filmed in the streets of Los Angeles, the video’s aesthetic is reminiscent of 90’s Eastern Europe, a nod to the director’s origins. Brodinski, who’s Bromance label is one of the main creative platforms within France, has been working on marrying techno and American rappers since releasing his debut album in 2015. This alliance is fully strengthened by the featured artist, Peewee Longway, an Atlanta trap pioneer, who brings an impressive set of slapping bars to the song’s already powerful beat. 'Split' will drop on all streaming platforms tomorrow.
