An Artistic Display of Entangled Lust and Artistic Bondage (NSFW)

What do you get when you put a knowledgable knot artist, traveling editorial photographer and established art director together in the same room? Well, we would have never been able to guess that an intimate visual narrative of tied-up erotic elegance was the end result.  In a collaborative effort between three distinct creative talents Marika Leïla Roux, Dennis Stenild and Sheri Chiu, the aforementioned proposal now exists in image form. For those of you unfamiliar with the artists above, however, let us introduce you to the masterminds behind the ropes-of-desire photoshoot seen below.

First there is the rope aficionado herself, Roux. Now a freelance performer and educator, she began studying traditional Japanese Rope Bondage (Shibari) several years before emerging as a contemporary rope artist who challenges the sexual connotations of bodies tangled in ropes. Copenhagen-based photographer Stenild, on the other hand, is known for his glamorous portraiture of musicians, dancers and models alike. Last, but certainly not least, is the star of this show, Sheri Chiu– New York-based photo producer, fashion journalist and obvious model talent. Thanks to this collection of imagery concocted by the three multi-talents and provided by Live FAST Magazine, we are propelled into worlds of mark-making lust, artistic bondage and a love so wound up in passion.
