Behind the Release of International Media Collective 88rising's Debut Album
The management, record label, video production, and marketing hybrid company 88rising has just dropped their collaborative album Head in the Clouds. With an aim to legitimize Asian hip-hop, this group has redefined the traditional music business model since it’s trailblazing initial video in July of 2016. Their much anticipated debut, which has been hyped up after the releases of “Midsummer Madness,” “Peach Jam,” “Warpaint,” “Let it Go,” and “Japan 88”, was recorded over a period of two and half months in Los Angeles.
The compilation is a perfect blend of the crew, and also features guest artists Famous Dex, Playboi Carti, GoldLink, 03 Greedo and more. Along with the 17-track drop, the 88rising collective is also taking the next step and launching their inaugural Los Angeles based music festival in September, which will double as the kickoff of their extensive North American Tour.
