Marius Sperlich

Marius Sperlich is photographer and art director based in Berlin. Obsessed with close ups that trigger the spectators imagination, Sperlich shows the human body in a creative, lustful and sometimes odd way. By treating his portrait process much like that of a director, each photograph always has a story line or a basic feeling behind it. Spontaneous ideas, contingency as well as exact preparation are always part of his work. Sperlich plans his productions to the last detail and then tears them down to create character. While his work does not intend to create a specific emotion – his aim is to make people experience any feeling. Inspired by discomfort, Sperlich springs the viewer out of his comfort zone often by showing super close-ups of the human body.
