Welcome To The Dark And Sultry World Of The Multi-Talented Creative Lea Godoy
We first discovered the evoking work of Seattle-based Lea Godoy when we were compiling our Breaking Sound feature on fellow Seattle-based songstress Emi Rose a.k.a EMI. From perusing the internet in search for the best images of Rose, we came upon the dark-toned, raw and sensual work of Godoy, which of course we used predominantly throughout the feature.
Admittedly, Godoy’s images alone were already enough to warrant the profile piece we’re doing right now, but to then discover the other creative facets that this young mastermind has already under her belt made it all the more special. And so now we’re sharing it all with you, the multi-talented Lea Godoy that you’ll be dumbdumb not to keep a pulse on.
My last name backwards is yodog.
While her photography work—as mentioned—can stand on its own to give her a name of recognition, the promising artist has also directed and edited a good number of visual projects that could very well be official music videos for the soundtracks she laces them with—now’s the time if you haven’t already to peep her reel in the jump above.
On top of that, if that wasn’t enough, is the fact that she also has a recorded track to her name (a first of hopefully many), with Godoy pouring out smooth and seductive R&B vocals over a Ryan Bridger produced track—the video of which was made by both Jon Sal and Godoy herself.
It’s rare to come by someone so fresh yet already so skilled at a number of different mediums, especially in this day and age, let alone finding someone that does it as well as Godoy. While execution and quality are there, what we personally like is the signature tones you’ll find throughout all of her work. It’s a rich and vibrant one (often cast under a neon glow), as well as feminine, unequivocally sensuous and dark. An auteur in the making, do yourself the favor of following her on Instagram, as well as checking out her official website here.
