Watch NYC’s new Heartache Kid Gus Dapperton’s Cinematic Visuals for “I’m Just Snacking”

Let’s start things off by saying that you’ll need to put Gus Dapperton on your radar, as the kid is on the cusp of blowing up. i-D Magazine thinks it, we think it, and surely many others will to. Hailing from Warwick, NYC, the indie-pop artist has been on the low, sporadically dropping incredibly catchy tunes out into the stratosphere. But now we have his first visual effort; his debut music video for the single “I’m Just Snacking,” that’s just confirmed all assumptions that Gus is the new guy that you should be watching.

Credits for the beautifully executed vignette doesn’t all go to Gus though, as the video brings on fellow New Yorker Matthew Dillon Cohen as director, known for working with the likes of Rejjie Snow, Lil Yachty and GoldLink to name a few. The video itself follows Gus through a turbulent romance, from ups to down, complete with a lot of kissing and dancing in the mix–naturally. The song sits as just a single for now, along with his other releases, but hopefully we’ll be seeing a complete project to come soon. In the meantime, enjoy the delightful video for “I’m Just Snacking” in the jump above, and then head over to Gus’ Soundcloud page here for more good time-sad time feels.
