Unrated’s Undiscovered 003: Waves To Carry The Week
While we struggle to prepare ourselves for the (always) too sudden cometh of the winter holidays, we’ve put together a set of tunes that will help numb the stress and keep you afloat as we roll through the week. Once you’re ashore come this weekend—this Christmas weekend that is—you’re on your own. Or actually just play through out other playlists and you’ll be fine and able to tackle the family feuds that are inevitable with this merry-synonymous time of year.
This particular mix starts off with an emo-rock-trap banger before calming itself into a slow roll of hip hop, very chill beats, alternative blues-rock, and ending on a wonderful soulful, R&B fizzle.
This wavey AF playlist serves as our third installment to the Unrated’s Undiscovered series; a curated mix of singers, songwriters, producers, DJs, rappers and then some, all of which have surprisingly low followers given their musical capabilities (no more than 25K), and are mostly burgeoning and unsigned, hence “Undiscovered.” This particular mix starts off with an emo-rock-trap banger to get us off our feet—much like a tsunami or some other wave-related metaphor—before calming itself into a slow roll of hip hop, very chill beats, some alternative blues-rock for good measure, and ending on a wonderful soulful, R&B fizzle that you feel between your toes.
Included is a mix of original tracks by young creatives like Brooklyn’s DomMonique, Huntington Beach’s Yung Punch, and Seattle native EMI, along with upcoming producers like casual who have created an insane Waka Flocka rendition. And then you have the seemingly random, but oh-so-right Grandson and his alternative take on gruff blues—waves, after all, are unpredictable. So sit back, shut up about not having gone present shopping earlier, wipe that hangover sweat from your brow and fall back on our ‘Waves To Carry The Week” playlist. And as mentioned, once Friday hits, make sure you head here to listen to our other Unrated’s Undiscovered playlists.
