The Vans Skate Team Shred Through Asia in Latest Skate Video Series ‘Transit’

We’ve seen skate videos shot at a myriad of countries and cities around the world. From all across North and South America, to all over Europe, Russia, Africa and Asia. But while we’ve been enjoying specific videos tied to specific cities, it’s not often we get to experience a varied range of landscapes from multiple countries within one continent in one consistent series. Thanks to Vans, we now can. The Shoe brand’s latest video efforts, an ongoing series entitled Transit, brings its skate team all across Asia, from South China to South Korea, Singapore and Malaysia, were we see the team dodge through crowds, hectic traffic, and the cities’ rapid development.

What you’ll also notice in Transit is the difference in how these Asian cities deal with skaters on their lawn, highlighting the juxtaposition from your more Western city that’s grown used to shredding of board and wheels. This includes both ends of the spectrum, from being promptly kicked out, to sheer curiosity from never having seen skateboarding before. Transit offers an interesting perspective on what it’s like to push the sport in places that are currently balancing on the precipice of old and new. Enjoy the first two episodes of Vans’ Transit throughout, then check out Neocha’s site here to keep up to date with future eps to come!
