The Return of N.E.R.D. Continues With New Single “Rollinem 7’s” Ft. André 3000
The talk of the music world right now is definitely around the much welcomed return of one of the best funk rock bands from our generation: N.E.R.D. Consisting of Shay Hayley, Chad Hugo, and Pharrell Williams, the group broke boundaries from the onset back in 1999, with 2010 being their last released album Nothing. Now seven years later, we’re getting a taste of what’s to come from their highly anticipated new project, officially entitled No_One Ever Really Dies. While the upcoming album has yet to even receive a release date, the lucky few who attended ComplexCon’s music portion had honor of hearing the full project live as part of the band’s official “listening party.”
If you were there, then you should remember a number entitled “Rollinem 7’s,” especially since it was one of the greatest rappers alive on deck for it: André 3000. The track serves as N.E.R.D.’s second single off of the album, the first being of course the Rihanna featured “Lemon,” which came with a captivating music video that shone a bright light on pro dancer Mette Towley. The only sad thing about all this is that the single isn’t technically out yet for listening, save for its initially airing on Apple Music’s Beats 1 Radio on November 10. What we do have however is a video with the guys discussing all about the track below, so check that out and stick around for more news to come from N.E.R.D.
