Porn, as we’re sure many of you will know, comes in all shapes and sizes; the industry is awash with a plethora of genres and categories. While the most… conservative of the lot comes with over-exposed light, little to no narrative and a sheer lack of creativity, there are styles of pornographic movies that look at the platform as a means of hyper-sexualized art. A creative performance or story that includes the intimate and sensual act of sex. This is the case for British indie porn producers Pandora Blake and Blath Blossom, as well as Los Angeles-based Vex Ashley.

In an insightful article by Huck magazine’s Alex King, we get a glimpse at what really goes on within the independent porn industry, especially for those practicing more niche genres, and what the people involved are doing about it. “I’m into knives. In three months, I’m going to have to take my site offline in the UK, so I kind of have a fuck-it attitude right now.” Pandora tells Huck on the encroaching British porn industry legislative. Vex on the other hand is in a position where she’s exploring all creative potential within the medium. “The most exciting thing about porn is that there is no blueprint to follow and no establishment to acquiesce to – you make your own space on your own terms,” she tells Huck. The article itself goes back and forth between the the two Brits and Vex, offering an entertaining and educational read on where the indie porn scene is at right now.
