Last Saturday night saw the debut event of our Unrtd Club, a community of burgeoning and established creative individuals that aspire to be culturally active. Since this was our first party for the new initiative, we decided to kick things off with a bang by throwing the wildest gig Downtown Los Angeles has ever seen, good ol fashioned house party style. To help us out, we teamed up with LA’s GLDVW, the multifaceted creative collective that specializes in the dopest collaborative events this side of the United States

With more beers and bottle than we could carry, a sound system that deteriorated the very foundation of the neighborhood, and our special guest the beautifully brash/the up-in-you-face realist/the outspoken feminist and insanely charming Destiny Frasqueri, better known by her stage name Princess Nokia, we were set to light the night ablaze.

And that’s exactly what we did. Well… what we started doing before Los Angeles called in the swat team to come and contain such a threat to uncultured society (full disclosure, it was just the cops, but that still gives us a bit of street cred). For those that did themselves a silly and missed out on getting lit with us this past weekend, here’s a photo recap by our talented contributor Emily Acosta to make you feel the full force of fomo, and hopefully entice you to join our next event.

Check out scenes of kids turning up to spins by Blondie Beach Records, Laedi, ROOFEEO and Princess Nokia’s very own BIANCA OBLIVION, awesome custom light art by Bryan Yazzie, a backyard chockfull of LA’s best, and of course the one and only Princess Nokia wrecking wonderful havoc with her hard hitting East Coast rapping while nearly collapsing the DJ table. Also, check back in soon for our video recap to come.
