Now that we at Unrated have firmly situated ourselves within the fine city of Los Angeles, we’re fast discovering the myriad of elements and avenues that makes this place beautiful. From cholo low-riders in the East, to Huntington Beach’s mellow surf scene, to the beautiful blend of Roscoe’s waffles and chicken, LA’s diversity in culture and aesthetics is next to none. Tapping into the sun-soaked vibes of yesteryear for an exclusive fashion editorial, we’ve brought on the incredible talent of photographer Dan Regan.
A shoot that highlights the brightly colored pastels of the clothes that mirrors the bright sensibilities and overall aesthetics that sunny LA is so synonymous with.
Hailing from Venice, California, Regan spends his time working and living between LA and NYC as a photographer and filmmaker, where he’s continuously creating presentations of contemporary and youth culture in a way that seems so simple at first glance, but holds layers of carefully crafted creativity that will keep you captivated—and we’re not the only ones to have noticed this unique talent. Working at times under his moniker NO – SCHOOL, Regan has a formidable list of clients that includes the likes of major publication brand Condé Nast, adidas, Dazed & Confused, Band of Outsiders, Opening Ceremony and Dover Street Market to name a few.
For the editorial which we’ve titled Rose Palm Drive, Regan, along with the evoking stylings of Geraldine “Gigi” Freyeisen came up with an incredibly refreshing yet nostalgic take on LA’s sun-kissed youth, represented by models Jacob, Steven and Ama. Bringing on the garments of emerging fashion brand Affaires, Regan and Freyeisen have come up with a shoot that highlights the brightly colored pastels of the clothes that mirrors the bright sensibilities and overall aesthetics that sunny LA is so synonymous with. Enjoy Rose Palm Drive in its entirety throughout.
