- Brandon Shigeta / TJ Choe
Having started way back in Hong Kong before establishing its HQs in sunny Hawaii, POW! WOW! has steadily been growing as the front runner for a festival that celebrates public street art. Bringing in renown artists from around the world, as well as local artists from each respective city, POW! WOW! puts on a week-long event that revolves around the live mural making by each artist, all of which take over a neighborhood or city, casting it in an stunning array of unique art work. From Hawaii to Long Beach, Taiwan, Japan, DC and more, POW! WOW! has now graced the streets of South Korea for the first time ever.
Hitting up the capital of Seoul, the festival invited the likes of artists Tristan Eaton, Persue, Laurence Vallieres and Andrew Hem to name a few, all of which constructed epic-sized murals around the city. Also included are installations, and a number of collaboration pieces that blends together the skill and style of these artists into one seamless masterpiece. Check out the official POW! WOW! recap of their South Korea edition throughout, shot by the talented Brandon Shigeta and TJ Choe, then head to their official website to see more.
