PACCBET and Carhartt WIP Team Up for ’90s Skate-Inspired Capsule
Russian fashion designer/photographer Gosha Rubchinskiy and his pro-skater pal Tolia Titaev joined together in 2016 to form joint imprint PACCBET, and just last year, the two dropped their second season of streetwear offerings with a skate video to boot. Now, kicking of 2018, the skate brand partners team up with Carhartt WIP for a 12-piece capsule. If you’re a skate/graffiti culture aficionado who understands the impact that the PACCEBET co-founders and Carhartt have had on the skate fashion world, then this may just be a marriage you’ve been looking forward to.
In a monochromatic lookbook offering, the two brands are seen merged together with models sporting the oversized, ’90s Carhartt steez and pieces embellished with mixed branding details. Rubchinskiy explained to DAZED that the capsule was inspired by, “Carhartt archives from the early ’90s,” and, “late-80s images of skaters that were also shot in black and white in the cities that sit on the edge of the Black Sea.” Combining these throwback aesthetics together, the PACCBET x Carhartt WIP collection was born. (Those of you residing in Moscow, keep your eyes peeled for the pop-up on January 27th!)
