Naked Girls and Junk Food are Just the Tip of the Iceberg of Sarah Bahbah’s Photography Work (NSFW)

Having started off her career humbly documenting Australia’s music scene and its festivals, fine tuning her skills through capturing portraits and live-action shots of local and international artists, Aussie-based photographer Sarah Bahbah has taken quite a turn in what she now focuses on: a plethora of Naked Girls tenderly grasping arguably the sexiest of foods. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg of her body of work, which opens up into a much more in-depth exploration and presentation of the contemporary mind in today’s youth and young adulthood.

The subjects and candid backdrops they’re introduced in–perhaps a vestige of her previous experience mastering live shots–are nothing shy of playful, often leaning towards the side of a hedonist’s daydream–think pool parties with blowup sex dolls, tom foolery with incognito people, and bathing in a donut-filled tub to list but a few. But while the old adage of “sex sells” rings true in most, if not all cases, the young talent adds a subtle layer beyond just alluring content. Often coupled with a simple caption or text excerpt that speaks directly to the heart and soul of today’s younger generation, and with the visuals themselves often straight forward and unpretentious, Bahbah’s work has the ability to resonate with pretty much anyone.

This is perhaps why she’s garnered titles such as “Best Instagrammer” from Nylon Magazine and Elite Daily, and “nominated as one of the top six digital influencers of Australia in photography and travel by Pedestrian TV.” With exhibitions that span the globe, and a fancy list of publications coveting after her skills, it’ll do you good to keep tabs on Sarah Bahbah, which you can do by following her on Instagram here, and checking out her official website here.
