M.I.A. Brightens Up An Arid Landscape For Her Newest Music Video For “P.O.W.A.”

After first releasing the single “P.O.W.A” that made politically-charged references like “Obama” and “Osama,” as well as throwing out a few peer names such as “Mariah,” “Rihanna,” “Madonna” and “Ariana,” Mathangi “Maya” Arulpragasam, better known as M.I.A., now drops her official video to the track–and no it doesn’t feature guest appearances from the aforementioned.

It does however feature a troupe of brightly dressed dancers, as well as a vibrant M.I.A. herself set against the backdrop of an arid desert landscape, which serves a striking visual contrast that’s captivating to watch. The whole vignette was directed by the artist herself, who also shared the track’s full lyrics for those wanting to dissect on her Twitter account, which you can check out here. Enjoy the video in the jump above, and keep a look out for more from M.I.A. to come—the Brit rapper is back.
