Kendrick Lamar Puts a Truth-Spitting Spin on Being Interrogated in the Visuals for “DNA”

The music world and everyone looking in is undoubtedly still finding their feelings for Kendrick Lamar’s recently released album DAMN. Highly anticipated leading up to the drop, and highly debated over now that it’s out, there’s no denying that the rapper from Compton is making waves as of late. A huge torrent came from his amazingly produced/edited visual for “Humble,” and we’re right now experience a second hit of pure dope with “DNA,” not to mention his incredible performance during this passed Coachella weekend.

Bringing on the directorial talents of Nabil (& the little homies), the vignette places K.Dot in a classic interrogation room (interestingly wearing a Chinese Tangzhuang), where things go not quite as you would think. Truth spills out over the insane injustice against black lives as both K.Dot and the interrogator–played by the one and only Don Cheadle–channel the voice of the repressed by way of Lamar’s hard hitting lyrics. With a ScHoolboy Q cameo at the end–where the video takes an unexpected and straight up awesome turn–this is another epic effort from Lamar to bank for any fan of the artist.
