J Hus’ Music Video for “Common Sense” is the Best Introduction to the UK Rapper

It was last week when we first introduced UK breakout rapper Momodou Jallow, better known as J Hus onto our site, announcing the release of his debut album Common Sense, which came with an awesome accompanying audio video for the aponymously named track featuring the artist’s signature bucket hat raining pound sterling notes in an endless loop. While we could watch the visuals for days (some of us did), J Hus comes back around with a more, fully-produced effort for the official “Common Sense” music video that serves as the perfect introduction to who J Hus is, and why you need to start paying attention.

Breaking down the fourth wall, the vignette starts off with Hus getting into his prop BMW Hummer as he drives it into the studio, where the “official” visuals take place. The video then goes on to showcase the artist’s affinity for fashion, while allowing for some cameo appearances of his close cohorts–it’s a fam ting–as well as obvious visual metaphors of his successes (we’re talking about money and girls). Acting as the first visual effort off of Hus’ debut album, we’re sure we’ll be seeing much more from the Newham-native to come. In the meantime, enjoy “Common Sense” in the jump above, and check out more from him here.
