Hong Kong From the Favellas to the City Captured by Photographer Vivien Liu
Vivien Liu is a Hong Kong-based photographer and architect who has been practicing the crafts for over 8 years. Bridging her love for the technical aspects of architecture with the desire to capture its beauty and presence, Liu has utilized her skills in both to affect landscapes from China, to the United States, to Canada to the UK. Her experience is comprised of a variety of building typologies executed in varying elements from interior design to expansive urban planning, making her understanding of structure and composition unmatched.
Acknowledging the rising development of a culture desirous of elite visual content, Liu and Studio UNIT play with the physical and psychological experience of viewing stirring imagery.
Liu then founded photography, interior design and architecture firm Studio UNIT after attending Canada’s University of Waterloo, graduating with a Bachelor of Architectural Studies, and later Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design. Coupling collegiate education with hands-on action, her photographic and architectural voice is clearly heard.
