Dirt Bikes & Women: Sebastien Zanella’s Latest Photoshoot Recaps the Spirit of Wheels & Waves
- Alexander Lendrum
While most of what we feature of visual director Sebastien Zanella is his incredibly captivating video work that often highlights the the art of surfing, the creative talent’s photography work is just as stunning, as made obvious in his latest photo series for French eclectic cultural annual event Wheels & Waves, an effort that orientates themselves around vintage motorcycles, art, music and surfing. To help celebrate its latest festivities, Zanella hit the grounds to recap what went down. However, while typical recaps do a good job of representing the what’s happs of an event, Zanella instead creates incredibly artistic still–each photo easily serving as a work of art in its own right–that truly captures the spirit of Wheels & Waves.
In the series you’ll see close-up and detailed shots of the event’s motorcross races, top-down shots of the course, incredibly portraitures of the people participating, movie-esque shots of the mise en scène, and all the beautiful tattoo-clad people you’d expect to see at such an event. Truly a master of his craft, Zanella has gone above and beyond by turning your typical recap into an art form; something more budding photographers should take notes on when doing their own recaps.
