Prolific artist Eric Yahnker has been gracing the world with his weird and wonderful artwork for a good few few years now. From the parody to the outright bizarre, the Torrence, California-born Yahnker is a master when it comes to taking the familiar, and putting a contemporary spin on it that turns it into something completely different. Often hilarious and rude, his graphite and colored pencil drawings depict scenes of pop culture, from biblical art characters showing that ball is life, to Barack Obama flipping the bird, to an oddly stretched out pussy cat on top of a Toyota Prius… It’s all odd, and we love it.
With an upcoming solo exhibition just around the corner aptly titled Alternative Fiction, held during Art Brussels at The Hole NYC‘s space, it would do us all well to have a look through some of Yahnker’s previous works. The selection comes courtesy of our friends over at Juxtapoz mag, who has selected works that date back several years, and are all just as eclectic as ever. Check out a few excerpts from the collection here, then make sure you peep the rest over at Juxtapoz, as well as check in on the exhibition itself if you happen to be in the area. It all kicks off tomorrow. And while you’re clicking on things, you should also click here to check out Eric Yahnker’s official website for more from him.
